THE SOURCE
Beneath the Western Desert of Egypt lies the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer, one of the largest fossil water reserves on Earth. Rainfall that fell over 130,000 years ago began a slow migration through kilometres of porous rock, emerging today with a mineral balance shaped entirely by geology.
Mawa is drawn from this aquifer at Siwa Oasis, a settlement renowned for the purity of its water since antiquity. The water reaches the surface naturally, untouched by industrial agriculture or modern contamination.
